2003 Reunion Display: Brasso, Mullinnix Ship's Bell, Mullinnix Plaque, Mullinnix Bell Clapper, Mullinnix Generator Wheel - Pigeon Forge, TN, May 1-4.

A big thanks to MM3 Dale Schultz and MM2 Bob Houghton for helping with the big surprise of getting the Mullinix bell from a dark dusty warehouse near Williamsburg, VA to the 2003 Mullinnix Reunion in Pigeon Forge, TN.
I couldn't have done it without them.

The entire Mullinnix Association would like to extend its appreciation to Frank Thompson of the Navy's Curator Branch and his staff for allowing us to enjoy a piece of Mullinnix history.

And finally, thanks to the signal-crew for looking the other way, while the signal flags "fell into my seabag"!!



It appears that the Mullinnix bell may NOT be going back to a crate in a dusty warehouse. The USS Barry DD-933 Memorial in Washington D.C. has made a request to permanently display the Mullinnix bell. On Friday 2 May, 2003 the Mullinnix Association, at their business meeting, voted unanimously in favor of this proposal.

However, as the Barry is being scrapped, I don't know what happened to the Mullinnix Bell. Sad...
