USS MULLINNIX DD-944

USS Glendale PF-36

USS Glendale (PF-36), a Tacoma-class frigate, was the only ship of the United States Navy to be named for Glendale, California.

On 29 October 1951, she was decommissioned (a 2nd time) and transferred to the Government of Thailand. Glendale was struck from the Navy List on 20 November 1951. After serving in the Royal Thai Navy as HTMS Tachin (PF-1), the ship was reclassified PF-411, and decommissioned on 22 June 2000 at Sattahip Naval Base. Dismantled and transported by truck to the Military Preparatory Academy in Nakhon Nayok Province, the ship was re-assembled and has been on display there since 9 July 2001 with all her original armament intact.

Only ship of her class left anywhere in the world...
