On 11 June, Mullinnix and other units of Task Group ALFA departed for a three-month tour of duty with the Sixth Fleet in the Mediterranean Sea. While in the Mediterranean, Mullinnix participated in major anti-air and anti-submarine warfare exercises called Poopdeck VI.
Taking her sweet time to cross the Atlantic and, or course, naval excerise after naal excerise, the ship anchored at Rapallo, Italy. The crew had some good quality time on liberty before the ship left on 5 July.
Sensing that his crew may still need their batteries charged further, the CO steamed in Genoa, Italy on 10 July, leaving on 14 July. Thinking things couldn't get any better, Mullinnix pulled into Marseille, France on 15 July, staying until 19 July. Way to go, Captain!!!

After leaving Marseille, the ship went back to work with the Sixth Fleet. 23 July saw Mullinnix anchoring in Pallensa Bay, Mallorca, Spain. Staying only 2 day, the ship steamed back to sea on 25 July.
After 5 more days of content exerices, chasing suspected subs, and working with multiple ships, Mullinnix found herself in Tarragona, Spain. She left on 3 August, anchoring in Asinara Bay, Sardinia on 6 August. She only stayed for a few hours, then back to the sea the same day.
On 9 August, she anchored at Naples, Italy. Early the next morning, on 10 August, Mullinnix moved to pier side. She left Naples on 13 August.

16 August found the ship in Tangier, Morroco, where she stayed until 18 August, then head east to Norfolk. She arrived home at D&S Piers on 2 September.
